The Atlantic City Electric Line School is a four-week program offering hands-on instruction to students seeking a career in the energy industry as a line worker.The program is a 40-hour curriculum that provides women the opportunity to learn about career paths in these related fields. The Women in Sustainable Employment (WISE) Pathway is a course designed for women to explore non-traditional, in-demand jobs in the construction, gas, water, electric, and energy industries.The workshop provides individuals with the necessary math concepts required to successfully complete employment testing for jobs in the energy industry. The Get into Energy Math and Boot Camp workshop is focused on applied math skills specific to the energy industry and teaches concepts that are critical to success for energy industry job opportunities.Ability to isolate and repair defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.Atlantic City Electric is partnering with three southern New Jersey vocational schools and four local workforce development boards to facilitate a comprehensive workforce development program aimed at educating the clean energy workforce of tomorrow.Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.Ability to read both commercial and industrial electrical blueprints and apply NEC, NFPA-70A, NESC, and OSHA 10-30 through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for both primary and secondary systems.Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test medium and low voltage electrical circuits and equipment.Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E, OSHA 10-30, and the National Electrical Safety Code.Knowledge of low and medium voltage systems, equipment, substations, and primary power distribution.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Advises Facilities Management Electrical Trades Inspector of non-compliance with NFPA or UNM standards.Reads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedules, control drawings, and building schematics. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.Plans and implements medium voltage electrical primary system switching procedures.Troubleshoots, tests, and inspects complex electrical systems, moderately complex relay calibration, adjustment and calibration of complex protective relays, and power metering for substations and individual services uses computers to control, test, and program electrical equipment.Operates and maintains low (Leads, guides, and/or trains other electricians in applicable procedures and techniques coordinates system repairs.Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits using appropriate tools and testing instruments.Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
